The World is Our Classroom!

Kaylee loves the beach!
This summer, it was not within our budget to go on a family vacation. But, thanks to our friends in Virginia Beach we did get to go to Virginia Beach! We went for two night in July for our anniversary and we went for a few days the second week in September.

There are many possibilities for learning experiences at the beach! For example, we brought along a guide to help us identify the different birds, crabs, and shells we saw on the beach. We also observed a group of dolphins and discussed them. We rode bike. We dug in the sand. We discussed how waves are formed. She experienced the oceans tides. She swam. She flew a kite on the beach. Those kinds of things are teaching Kaylee about her environment. There isn't a better way to learn than experiencing those things as they are happening. The world is our classroom. We love homeschooling. The possibilities are endless...

The best place to fly a kite.
